Hi Cute Cavy, no need to neuter him if he will be going with another boar as it will not change his behaviour one bit. 2 months is an akward age and not a great time to pair him up. i would wait until he is a year old and then get a 4-6 week old baby to pair him up with. In the meantime I'm sure he will be very happy living next door to the pair you have.

They do that... especially at his age. I bet be really enjoys strutting his stuff and saying 'look at me I'm a big clever boy' when he knows they can't get him.

He's being cheeky really. Very funny though ;D but I guess you can see what I mean about it not being a good age to pair him up!

Yeah! I will wait till he is older! You know, my friends 9 year old sister just bought a cavy, and he lives in a cage with only a water bowl (not bottle) and dry food. No bedding, hay, newspaper ect, no house nothing! No veggies either! she has kept him like this for about 2 days then i came over to pick up my sister from her house, and... i saw it and i told her everything and how it should be handled and she said it was too much, so i am going to be bringing the piggie into my rescue probaly

"too much" what on earth does she mean, nothings too much trouble for my piggys and the same for all of you girls no doubt, poor little piggy, glad you're taking it over, see i would do that but I wont part with any of them, once they come into my life they stay for good , its an affliction I have, just cant seem to let go!!

Oh gosh Cute Cavy that is not 'too much' those are the basic things a piggy needs, your friend is being cruel. I hope that you can get the piggy soon as with no hay or proper food it will be very poorly or even sadly die in a matter of days.

I know!! She still wants to keep it so i came over and fixed up the cage and made a huge veggie dish for the poor piggie she called 'Scotchy' and he is scared to death, obviously hasn't been handled. Poor little one!! She wants to keep her, how can i get her to give her to me? DO you think i can call a rescue shelter or the rspca and let them deal with it? Or should i have a chat with her mom?

I really don't know how you could handle it. Maybe initially lend her a book or give her some print outs form websites that say what piggys need. Then perhaps chat with her Mum and explain about the vet bills if the piggy doesn't have hay and it teeth overgrow or it has a deficiency because its not been fed properly. If they don't listen you could try the RSPCA but I'm not sure they will help you unless its not being fed. But you could try. Please keep us updated on this poor little one.

Yeah. I talked to her mum on the phone. She said it sounded like a lot of work.. and money! And she says she will talk to her daughter (Carmen) about giving her to me!

Good news... at least she knows whats involved and if they can't give the piggy the things it needs then they should give it to someone who can- in this case you. Hope that Carmen takes it well. I'm sure its not an easy thing but it is the best.
