Hi there
I am looking for a home for a pair of rescues: they are 2 boys, fairly young, fully grown but under 2 yrs, to stay together as they get on well, they need a lovely new home and owner. Must go to indoor home, prefer home wher lots of individual attention can be given. Derbys location, near to Notts, Leicester, Tamworth etc.

Hi Sam hope you find homes for the boys. Have you had a look at www.guineapigrehome.org.uk you can list your piggys on there and reach more people who might offer them a forver home that way. You can also use the A-Z of rescues on there to find a local rescue who might rehome them for you. Hope someone here, or there can help you. If you are having trouble please email me susiebucktrout@blueyonder.co.uk and I will try to help.

Hi beks, I'm up in the north of england (north west) so quite a distance. Are there no local pdsa/rspca shelters that offer to rehome pigies near you - i suppose its alway worrying to think where they might go to but surely the staff will vet the prospective owners? Just an idea.... good luck, hope the boys get sorted soon.

Hello, thank you for your replies. I have tried to rehome this boys before but the only person who answered the ad was someone who kept pigs and rabbits in an outside lav The pigs are still available for rehoming but only to the right home. They are defintely not going to the RSPCA who I know do not vet homes for smaller animals (in my area anyway). If anyone is interested please post here. Thank You.

Well I'm based in Notts and travel North to County Durham (Newcastle) from time to time and also have family in Leicester and Brum so have no qualms about helping with a train if needed... I also know of a good fosterer in Birmingham who will find them good homes if there's an urgency in the request.
Perhaps some pics will help with your rehoming Sam also.

Hi again The pigs are in Ashby de la Zouch which is between Notts and Birmingham close to M42 and J22 M1. I will post some pics later on if I can get my camera to work. These boys really deserve a nice home, I would love to keepo them myself but I have too many (95% of mine are rescues) - before you ask - no, I don't breed. They will have been treated with Ivermectin before they leave (for prevention not as cure), I have a big bottle from my vet and treat all my pigs every 6 months or so. I find in winter the stress of them not being able to graze and the colder weather makes them more prone. The most important thing is they go to a home where pigs are valued and treated with respect. Kids are welcome but they must be like my kids ie. animal lovers. Outside accomodation is OK but I would rather they went to a home where they can live in someones house as they tend to get more attention that way. Warm cosy pampered sheds are also OK. Thanks, will post pics later,

Thanks for the extra info hopefully it will help them find a home. Please do not worry- this forum is not agressive in anyway and nobody is going to get jumped on for asking for help for some piggys! Well done for what you are trying to do here. Here are some other friendly piggy forums you might like to post about these pigs on in order to get the best chance of finding a forever home. www.theguineapigforum.co.ukwww.wheekers.co.ukI know some of the members on these forums and they are the kind of people I would rehome to if I needed to. Please keep us updated. I always wonder about little piggs like these. It would be great to hear more about your own piggys and about you if you did feel happy with the way we welcomed you and that you would like to join us here as a member. E-mail addresses are provided to pro boards but can remain private from the public if you wish. I would also like to offer to you the opportunity to have these piggys featured on the Barmy4boars website on the adopt a boar page which is intended to put piggys like these in touch with owners. The website has had almost 10000 hits... so again it might help. regards
