One of my boys has an extra toe on one of his back feet, it's intact with a claw (which requires clipping) but is only attached to the rest of his foot by a tiny bit of skin so it just dangles. Should i take him to the vet and have it removed or leave it alone as it doesn't seem to cause him any discomfort.

I have heart of piggys born with extra toes. A family I know breed piggys and recently had a piggy with an extra toe. they sought advice on this an were told it is not an uncommon birth defect in piggys... if you notice there are 4 front claws and 4 back claws as if evolution is still happening re: number of claws. And that piggy would have no problems. However the thing about your piggy having a toe that dangles doesn't sound good and I imagine might be an injury risk when he walks on it. I would definately seek expert attention with the piggy.

It would be a very minor procedure to whip them off, but if they are not bothering him, I wouldn't bother them! How interesting - do you have any pics?
