Doolittle got neutered yesterday and is doing well. so well he won't leave he station in his cage where he keeps an eye on the gals and chews the bar.
Yesterday why he was gone, I heard this sound that I have heard from them before and found it to be coming from Nutmeg. She made the sound as she breathed. I started to panic and brought her in here with me. she stopped making the sound and later I caught her gazing into Doolittle's cage and chewing the bars. I am now sure it was some sort of 'come get me' sound. Ever since I put Doolittle next to the girls, I have been hearing this sound. It is almost like a low 'woof'. One morning I heard it all the way down the hall in my room! I thought they were getting ready to chirp. Last night I heard Doolittle make it so it must be that 'I want you' sound boars and sows make. Alone, the girls never made it.
Now you all promise me that after 3 weeks Doo will be sterile?

I have heard some people err on the side of caution, especially with older sows who have not had litters as their bones would be fused and keep the boar away 4-5 weeks 'just incase'. Not experianced or heard the sounds personally but it sound facinating! Their own little date langauge. How is the area doing? Hope it all heals well. Sure you are monitoring him closely.
Hugs to Doolittle.
