I had to have my lovely gentle Spice pts today. He had lost such a lot of weight in just a couple of days and had lost interest in food. The vet said the kindest thing would be to let him go, but she would put him out and have a good look in his mouth and throat, but she found a big tumour in his throat so she didn't bring him round . He was about 5ish could have been older, so he was a good age for a Rex. He can now run and wheek with his brother Disney. Which now leaves little Jeeves on his own , and as he is only 10 weeks old I cannot get him neutered yet.

Thank you Kim, they have such great characters, each one different don't they and sorely missed. So glad yours are getting better. I have thought about getting two sows for Jeeves, but as I say he is not old enough to be neutered (about September time, a long time in a guineas life) so perhaps it would upset him? If I put the two sows in seperate runs but so he could see and wheek to them, he may get frustrated and upset? I would really love to get him a mate or two. I have been advised to wait until he is old enough to be neutered before getting any more, which is sound advice but I do feel sorry for Jeeves being on his own. Any suggestions?

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. It is very upsetting when you loose someone that you cared for. I have a boy surrounded by 11 girls. He is very happy and is forever running around. He never seems cross or annoyed about them being there. When he is in the run they have wire between him and them. When he first goes in he sniffs them through the wire but then ignores them. He is only 6 weeks old.

I'm so sorry to hear that Can you get little Jeeves another boy to play with? My Leroy was 10 weeks old when I paired him with Malcolm, who was 6 weeks. They get on absolutely fine.

Condolences on losing sweet Spice. Kim, it may be scurvy. Get strawberries, red peppers and cranberries into her quickly. I would see the vet.
