i have two little guinea pigs that are about four months old.i went to clean thier cage yesterday and i noticed that there was slimy red diahrea in the cage. one is eating and the other looks like it is having a hard time walking and has no intrest in eating or drinking. i accidently bought rabbit food for them two weeks ago and they have been eating that up untill yesterday when i bought them guinea pig pellets. somebody please help me find out what i can to to help them

Please get them to a vet asap Kimberly, red diarreah does not sound good. Some Rabbit food does contain a chemical which is harmful to piggys so take the food along too just incase.

i took them to the vet a few hours after i wrote in.they are both on medicine and need yogurt twice a day. the vet that we took them to said she has raised and delt with guinea pigs her whole life. she said by the time you buy guinea pig food in the store there is no longer vitamin c left in it so we should give them 30-60grams of childrens chewable vitamin c. thanks for caring susie

one of my little girls died and i miss her dearly. could anyone tell me if lice could have contributed to her death

So sorry you lost her. I don't know about the lice. Mites are actually more common.
