Hope it continues too... if you have a look at my trios page ( www.susieandpigs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/trios.htm ) you will see a few view points on this. 5 months is an akward age... and a delicate time for a pair of boars, and more complicated still with a trio. Lets hope they remain friends.

got my fingers crossed for you but like you also keep boars together in certain circumstances, ie characters family members like you and just because they plainly get along, as Susie says keep an eye on them, I have tried to give Dobby a friend but he so laid back he gets bullied including a little 7 week old black self called floo I was given , he was whipped out but he settled with other males because he was'nt able to bully them, all get along brilliantly ( they tend to mother him) will always watch out for him tho, mean while Dobby is on his own but his run is pushed up to another, and we often catch him nose sniffing tiger next door, so he has friendship but with the added precortion of a divider, always watch out for changes in temprement tho!

hi Dawn I've not given up on dobby as he looks so lonely despite having others next to him, so yesterday he got put in with 2 very very chilled boys artie (arthur) and pheonix (yep I like Harry Potter), they seem to be fine he is not moping and although he looks a little wary of them he certainly looks happier, time will tell, I have most of my piggys from birth so know them very very well, will keep you updated hope things are still cool with your 3, Dobby is pheonix half brother which might be interesting but am checking all the time, most of my boys are in trios which seems to work better for some reason for me,

Just want closely- if blood is drawn separate immediately and permanently. I find that they rumble and mount etc for just a week or a few days before they sort out the pecking order and then settle down. Occasionally they might need to re-establish their order but if they are dong this continually then it doesn't look good. Please check nobody is being bullied and constantly pestered. There is info on this on my site: www.susieandpigs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bullying.htmDo keep us posted! I hope they are the exception. Separation is not a happy thing. But It can work well- Hugo and Rainbow my separate boys love living in their C&C divided pen. Without any disrespect to Michelle, who herself would agree I'm sure... I would just like to note that I do not advise that anyone try to put a happy bonded pair together with a third boar. To me this is risking the friendship of the two as you could end up with 3 separate pigs. Few people could manage to house 3 pigs separately with enough room. So please don't try it. See: www.susieandpigs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/trios.htm Dawns Piggy's were always a trio which again is not ideal but hopefully might just work out. But I reiterate that introducing a third boar to a pair is not something people ought to try.

I have to agree with Susie only that it is not a good idea to interrupt the happy medium going on with an established pair by introducing a third pig. my circumstances might be different from you in that i have loads of room, know most of my piggys from birth and have the time to be patient and watchful. UNLESS YOU DO PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH YOUR PIGGYS pheonix and artie are used to having the odd pig thats needing company in with them, they are very laid back (the exception to the rule) and dobby is in safe paws with them two, in fact he is at the moment (well 10minutes ago) cuddled in a pile of hay with pheonix, the odd rumble and mounting is quite normal but anything above this is NOT NORMAL and any blood drawing is a definate time to get them out, they mean business, if you need any further advice look on Susies pages, hope your 3 are still doing well Dawn,

I am glad you all shared your experiences with me, I was a bit worried at first after all the stories I have heard about not putting boars together but now I think I am feeling a bit better about it all ;D I guess piggies are like human's all different, what suits one may not suit another and so on
