My little boy Jeeves is getting so lonely even with lots of cuddles from me and 'smiles' from my little Yorkie dog, so I went to rescue centre and there were three piggies, 1 boar and 2 sows which have been in rescue for about 2 years , they are aged about 3, and they are living together. I asked if I could have them but I will have to have a home check first. My Jeeves is about 14weeks old so not old enough to be neutered yet. I have enough hutches/indoor cage to be able to split from sows until he is neutered, but can anyone advise me if two boars and two sows will be okay together (especially as the three are already a group)when Jeeves has been done. It is such a shame that they have been in rescue for that length of time and it is only because of their age, everyone seems to want the youngsters. Sorry to keep asking the same similar question, but I do feel so guilty about Jeeves being on his own.

Yes, the other boar has been done. It is just a matter of waiting for home check now and if I can have them I hope they all get on (once Jeeves has been done of course)

The anwer to your question is sadly 'definately not'! You cannot keep 2 boars with a sow or two sows they will fight, even if they are nuetered because they are with girls. So whatever you do please do not put the two boar and two sows in the same cage! If you are set on these piggys you would need to keep them in two cages ach with 1 boar with 1 sow. However this would mean you would have to split up teh trio who you say had been together a while and are bonded, as well as having to have surgery on your Jeeves. If you do this please make sure ou have a good vet. Even if you do there can be post surgery complications such as infection, abcesses. It will take many weeks after surgery before you could put him with the girl too. So my advice would be these piggys are not right for you and Jeeves but thats a decision only you can make. I hear what you are saying about Jeeves being lonely, so have a think through your options and a browse of my options pages to help you. There are so many non surgery options! I have sucessfully paired up all my boys with other boars, only once did I have to seperate. If this is not for you, you could get your Jeeves nuetered and get him a girlfriend.... but do your research first. Clear as mud I know but there is a lot to think about! Main thing is though you can't put 2 boars with 2 sows, you can in theory put 1 boar with a large group of sows but not 2 boars with sows.
