Galaxy was pushed onto me by a breeder who WAS a friend of my hubbys he said come take these pigs I've been given but dont want as they were not going anywhere near his breeder pigs,
he left them in a delapidated hutch my heart went out to the lot of them
Galaxy was a sheltie matted and thin and long nails and smelly he looked elderly his mate was Twix (we renamed them of course) he was a rex and again mattey and smelly and thin, then he said you may as well have these two as well in an upturned shopping basket I found pongo and a very pregnant purdey, they had all been left out for the foxes,
when we got them home purdey was about to pop, her pregnancy was very advanced, bless her heart ,she gave me 5 darling babys 3 days later, we still have her and 4 of her babys (cookie died out of the blue last year), Galaxy and twix were bathed and groomed and had their nails trimmed and left for a few days to settle down together, next morning i went in to find 2 beautiful healthy piggys attempting to popcorn
Twix put on weight very quickly and was here for well over 2 years before he died in his sleep,
Galaxy was such a sweet heart loved the kids stroking him and always made a loud wheak when anyone was nearby, he never ever regained the weight needed and died despite a lot of medical attempts, but the vet said too much damage had been done through neglect, he lived here almost 2 years and made us very happy with his bright chirpy nature despite being so ill, we have photos of him everywhere with the kids oops here comes the tears pongo also died in his sleep for no apparent reason, but i guess he thought there you are 5 babies to make you happy, job done !
thankyou Galaxy Twix and pongo not to mention little cookie who only had just over a year with us miss you all so very much, got to find a tissue now
you dont realise how much these little guys affect your life until they go to the bridge, GOD BLESS
