I am just wondering because I have noticed that Penny, whom I acquired a week ago (adopted by a friend whom figured I could handle her since I have 3 hamsters in the house lol) and for the first few days she drank lots of water in a few days. During this time, I didn't have much veges in the house until Friday but I did have alfalfa because of having the hamsters and she seemed to eat that and drink right after but now that I have gotten her veges and fruit, she doesn't seem to drink anymore. Is this normal since fruit and veges have water in them?

I have this exact problem with my 10 week old boar. I only got him a week ago; he used to have a mouthful of timothy hay then run over to the water and have some of that.
Ive had to change his water bottle because his first one kept falling down as the fixture for it was too large; since Ive changed it and fed him more veg he doesn't seem to drink.
Maybe it is because the veg hydrates them enough?
